How to buy bandwidth on TRON
Energy pays for the work a contract does; bandwidth pays for the bytes the transaction takes up on the network. A USDT transfer needs both — around 350 bandwidth alongside its energy.

Switch the form to bandwidth
Bandwidth is bought on the same page as energy, from the other half of the switch at the top. Everything below it — the address, the total, the history — works the same way.
Every TRON account is given a small allowance of bandwidth each day, roughly one USDT transfer's worth. Once it runs out the network takes TRX instead, about 0.35 per transfer, and a wallet holding no TRX at all cannot broadcast anything until either the allowance returns or bandwidth arrives.

Take 1,000 — the smallest order there is
One thousand is the floor, and it covers about three transfers. Below that the delegation costs more to make than the bandwidth is worth, which is why the number exists at all rather than being a round figure someone liked.
The two larger presets are there for a run of payouts: 3,500 for about ten transfers, 7,000 for about twenty. Any figure in between can be typed in.

Bandwidth is cheap next to energy, and the flat delegation fee is a real part of the price at this size — which is another way of saying one order of 3,500 costs less than three orders of 1,000.

The rental is the same length as it is for energy, and the delivery shows up in the history with its transaction. Send what you were going to send, and let the daily allowance cover the quiet days.

- Do I need bandwidth if I have rented energy?
- Usually the free daily allowance covers it. It is worth buying when you are sending several transfers in a row, or when the sending wallet holds no TRX to fall back on.
- Why can I not buy less than 1,000?
- Each delivery is an on-chain delegation with a fixed cost of its own. Under a thousand units that cost would outweigh what you are buying.
- How much bandwidth does one USDT transfer take?
- About 350, whatever the amount being sent. Size is what is charged for, and a transfer is the same size whether it carries 5 USDT or 50,000.
- What if I run out mid-transfer?
- Nothing breaks. TRON burns TRX for the missing bandwidth, which is the very cost renting is meant to avoid.
